Parents and Caregivers today are faced with a wealth of challenges that may impede their ability to positively parent their children. This program provides education designed to empower which introduces participants to the factors and warning signs of 21st century problems our children face, builds understanding of the importance of proactive intervention, and teaches individuals how to help their children when in crisis or experiencing challenges. This program uses role-playing to objectively assess the child’s behavior; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care. This program is an opportunity for parents and their children to be empowered to create positive and sustained change for their families. Strategies will be provided that: • Can assist parents and caregivers in providing emotional support for their children • Can improve protective factors, reduce risk, and ensure family stability • Assist children and youth in building self-esteem, promote positive peer relationships and improve personal development and family relationships. • Children and Youth learn and practice positive ways of interacting, problem-solving and supporting one another, and learn better coping strategies.
