Program Offerings Dr. Conaway offers the following four options for speaking programs. Fees vary depending on type of program desired. 1. A lecture on a desired topic is delivered via text-to-speech output file. Follow-up questions are answered verbally with supplemental clarification done to ensure intelligibility as needed by his assistant. The lecture topic is selected by the event programmer. This format would be geared toward lectures on technology and society, higher education, the research enterprise, as well as general issues about healthcare and society. 2. An interactive session of questions and answers is conducted with the audience after brief introductory remarks given by text-to-speech output file. Questions are discussed verbally with supplemental clarification done to ensure intelligibility as needed by his assistant. This format would be geared toward training an audience of healthcare professionals or healthcare policymakers on general disability issues in the contemporary healthcare milieu. 3. A humorous yet meaningful two-person skit about difference is conducted with his assistant. Questions from the audience are answered verbally with supplemental clarification done to ensure intelligibility as needed by his assistant. This format would be geared primarily toward disabled children and youth and/or their parents, education professionals, and other support staff. Other groups interested in learning about differences would benefit as well. 4. An interactive session of questions and answers is conducted with the audience after brief lecture on his experience living with a congenital disability given by text-to-speech output file. Questions from the audience are answered verbally with supplemental clarification done to ensure intelligibility as needed by his assistant. This format would be geared toward educating, encouraging and empowering parents as they journey in their quest to raise their disabled children in the best way possible.
