According to a Johns Hopkin's Comparative Nonprofit Sector project, volunteers comprise 44% of the nonprofit workforce in 37 countries. But how does one effectively recruit productive volunteers, help them feel appreciated, and want to continue to devote their hands and hearts to your project? Karen Loucks Rinedollar learned about volunteering from her community-oriented parents. She started with the American Red Cross and worked her way into founding the wildly successful children's charity, Project Linus, that has brought comfort to over five million of the world's children with handmade security blankets. She regularly works with non profits, schools and corporations to motivate people to volunteer, celebrate those who are volunteering and teaching tools to maintain volunteers.
