Hypnotherapy is all about establishing deep rapport. After all, a hypnotherapist is focused on getting inside your head, and is making persuasive hypnotic suggestions ("Ready to make some change today?") from the first moment. From that point, the task is to connect with your auditor's desire to improve and change, and to connect in visual, auditory, and kinesthetic ways with that desire. When Dr. Debbie talks about building hypnotic rapport, she simply means finding a common focus, a place where your minds meet. In the program, Dr. Debbie will demonstrate how Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) can guide us to connect with others effectively and communicate in ways that draw out their desire to grow and change for the better. Audience members will experience trance and post-hypnotic suggestion. Audience members will learn ways to: 1. See others as primarily visual, auditory, or kinesthetic communicators. Does their language and behavior primarily emphasize how their world looks (visual) or how it sounds (auditory) or how it moves (kinesthetic)? You'll be given concrete, common, and entertaining examples of each type. 2. Identify with their model of the world, in order to indicate your sincere and deep interest in where they're "coming from." This can sometimes involve a little NLP trick called "mirroring," in which you subtly mimic their movements, tone of voice, etc. (when they cross their legs, you cross yours--but subtly!). 3. Set aside your own agenda and ego in order to identify with theirs, by asking key questions, leaning in, and making direct eye contact. Listen more than you talk, observe their body language, pay attention to the metaphors they like to use. Dr. Debbie will show you how she draws hypnotherapy clients into deep concentration while building rapport and trust.
