During my tenure as a coach, I have been listening to my clients. I have been listening to the challenges my clients face in their work places. I have been listening to things my clients may do to overcome these challenges. I have been listening a lot. It became apparent, after working with over 300 clients, that certain truths – specifically nine of them - could be consistently applied by my clients in ways that would help them accelerate their careers. Regardless of their title or the nature of their organization, each of these truths can be successfully utilized. The nine truths that I have shared with most of my clients most of the time are – 1. Have a positive relationship with your boss 2. Know your company’s financial metrics and organizational risks. 3. Be curious first. 4. Life is like a bell curve. 5. Your most underutilized resource is a colleague. 6. Treat your place of employment like a poker hand. 7. Use the power of the pause. 8. Give immediate feedback. 9. Be empathetic. In this interactive presentation, I will share each of these truths with his participants and allow them the place to identify ways in which they can apply them to their work place and career. By applying most or all of these truths, participants will create a new narrative for themselves that will allow them to enjoy work more and accelerate their careers.
