Hands-on, interactive course designed to teach adult students how to get your life more organized: how to clear the clutter, set up useful systems for organizing your information and your “stuff”, and manage your time more productively. Available as a keynote, breakout session or workshop program. With multiple sessions, each session focuses on a different aspect of getting organized, and students are encouraged to work on developing new habits over the course of the class. Each student is also asked to pick an organizing project which they will work on with the assistance of the instructor and classmates throughout the course. One session will be devoted exclusively to discussion of these projects, with each student getting time to present their challenges, goals, and plans, and receive feedback from the instructor and classmates. Individual Class Session Titles are: • Why Organizing Matters • The Organizing Process • Organizing Techniques and Strategies • Individual Project Consultations • Time Management • The Process of Change A special feature of this class is that it focuses on the internal processes of change – it is not just about getting rid of the stuff, or putting it into bins, although we will talk about strategies for that as well. It is much more about identifying our own obstacles to getting organized, about building new habits and routines, and about gaining control over our time and our possessions so that they don’t gain control over us.
