Bringing me to your meeting will inspire, motivate, and engage your great group of colleagues to deliver greater service to their communities in the future. In our fast-paced society, we sometimes inadvertently lose our focus on critical processes that could make our work or quality of life better. I have the unique ability to recognize needs based on responses from my audience that I can spend more time on in facilitating probing questions that will help to possibly identify great solutions going forward. I currently provide training in the healthcare industry and I’m aware of the ever-changing rules and regulations that seem to change daily. As a Training Manager I am responsible for managing approximately 37 retail healthcare locations with approximate 800 colleagues in completing all federal and state required training along with yearly recertification's. Great organizational skills at every level provide a solid and well-trained staff who’s only job is to impact their customers/patients every day. I also serve as Chairman of my local community hospital Board of Directors impacting over 300,000 patient encounters per year, while providing approximately $50,000,000.00 in charitable healthcare. We work closely with the fourteen cities and towns in our county in being their most trusted healthcare provider. And recently our hospital was named one of the 100 Top Hospitals in America. It was our 5th award and only twenty hospitals were in our category across America. Healthcare in general is all about the correct processes in place and delivering great quality at a reasonable cost. As a decorated Army Combat Veteran, I retired as a Company First Sergeant. Deploying on five overseas training missions. I also assisted with the mobilization and deployment of the North Carolina Army National Guard's 30th Heavy Combat Brigade in 2003-2004. The largest mobilization since World War II of over 3,000 Citizen Soldiers. Again, outstanding training prior to deploying led to outstanding results on the battlefield. In 2005-2008 I, along with my unit from Gastonia, NC mobilized with our 505th Engineer Combat Battalion with approximately 800 Soldiers. During that deployment we hit approximately 57 IED’s, captured 27 insurgents, completed approximately 897 crater repair missions without losing a single Soldier. Again, outstanding training, following established processes and procedures delivered outstanding results. As a formerly elected official I know all too well the enormous needs in our communities and know how to work well within the local government, religious organizations and nonprofits to assist those in need. Selected as North Carolina's "Outstanding County Commissioner of the Year", I have the ability to partner across boundaries, build high performing teams and influence people. As a recipient of North Carolina's two highest civilian awards; The Order of the Long Leaf Pine and the old North State Award, I am a proven leader. I have a great understanding of the intricacies of the group I will be sharing with and will include all the audience through interactive conversation, identifying training opportunities and possibly establishing new processes while understanding the impact each attendee makes to our community.
