Cultivating a Spiritual Ecology
Cultivating a Spiritual Ecology based in Sustainable Permaculture, Meaningful Nourishment, and the Practice of Unity.

In a world suffering from having “too little” it is inspiring to know that there are resources all around us that can be modified and utilized to bring about a greater sense of health, wellness, balance, and unity. In this program, Dr. Allitt discusses the journey she, and her husband, have taken to cultivate their own spiritual ecology and develop a modern day ashram (spiritual school) that is based in the concept of “radical generosity”, and that includes: • reuse of an abandoned school building to house an ashram • retrofitting outdated energy designs to include more sustainable technology, such as solar PV and mini split HVAC • development of 7 Hugelkultur and 11 garden plots to feed people and support local need for clean nourishment • growth of a like-minded community reducing hopelessness and loneliness and emphasizing unity • empowerment of self and others to be of service • offering a full menu of pay-what-you-can services from Yoga and Yoga Therapy to vegan gluten-free home-made meals • provision of both practical and professional education in Yoga, Yoga Therapy and Holistic Ministries to support healthcare options for our local and distant community • a plan to reduce social walls and economic barriers, increase dignity and a sense of shared abundance, and provide meaningful solutions to modern day problems. This program will include a lecture, power point photo journey through the project to date, information on sustainability & gardening practices, inspiration on how to get more involved in your own community (or ours), and select mindfulness practices to stimulate a sense of inspiration and a personal vision of where we together can take our world and our healing.
