The Sept. 11th attacks affected people around the world. And in 2001 it affected my life as well. After returning to the U.S. mainland from Puerto Rico to continue on my path of law enforcement I was met with closed doors as the U.S. government initiated a hiring freeze due to the attacks. For the next 6 years, I would face near homelessness, hunger, and instability as I struggled to find my way into a different career path. In 2007 I began to initiate my "CLAIM WHO YOU ARE" thought process and my life changed. I went from eating fifty cent honeybuns for dinner to owning multiple businesses, becoming a high-volume sales artist, and speaking to thousands about my journey. Instead of waiting for opportunities to come my way I feverishly sought them out and CLAIMED them as mine before they were even given to me.
