Communicate & Collaborate for Results Have More Fun & Get More Done! The power of C2 communication techniques are brought home by example: This presentation is interactive, with growth through practice. An outline: Warm-up: North, South, East, West. A well-known exercise that explores the diversity of communications styles. 1. Countdown, David Letterman-style: "10 Reasons to Practice Better Communications Skills." This will generate laughs, nods, and immediate bonding in the group. 2. Each item in the countdown is explored with examples generated by the audience from their real experiences along with speaker examples. 3. Groups are formed for brief challenges. Groups must demonstrate their answers through a small skit. Perceptions can change very positively with some insight and interaction. 4. Issues of trust and suspicion are explored. Assumptions, particularly in the area of other races/religions/orientations are also explored. 5. The audience remembers vividly why it never works to judge a book by its cover with an exercise designed to slowly reveal a valuable resource from something that initially looked worthless. Final wrap-up involves sharing of plans 1 personal and 1 professional commitment with a structure for follow-through. This gives leadership a way to structure review of concepts, self-assessment, and participants a way to dialogue about their progress when they return to the workplace.
