In the wired world of today, individuals and teams are ever pressured to be plugged in practically 24/7. Our devices become our vices. Part of the draw is need and part is curiosity about what is happening in both our little and big worlds. Curiosity can be about ourselves, our environment, potential opportunities, other people's and our own intentions, and available possibilities. Curiosity can also be about something bigger than ourselves...about wonder, about marvel, about awe. When people feel awe, they also feel gratitude, appreciation, and unity, all contributors to high performance. In this interactive session, we will explore a new concept called AWepreneurship(SM). Like entrepreneurship, it is a mindset and aptitude but, rather than turning ideas into valuable businesses, it is about cultivating wonder, encouraging connection, and inspiring enterprise...at work, at home, on boards, and in the community. It is the foundation on which individuals creatively develop the virtues and principles driving entrepreneurship, innovation, resourcefulness, and risk-forward initiative. This interactive program invites participants to quench their natural thirst for knowledge, indulge their intrigue for curiosity, learn about the universe, find their place in it, and feel a sense of fit, purpose, and belonging. With AWepreneurship(SM), we feel committed to the greater good and find it impossible to simultaneously have a sense of entitlement, us-against-them, and unproductive self-centeredness. Based on the life-saving adventure of Akewak Wondimu, a 58-pound, 14-year old Ethiopian boy with a broken heart, a crooked spine, few resources, and endless perseverance, AWepreneurship(SM) helps people of all ages navigate the universe of opportunities, rise up to the challenges of achievement, and remain mindful of being a part of something bigger than oneself. Participants will learn what AWepreneurship(SM) is, why it matters, about simple practices that positively impact individuals in everyday life, and how to develop traits and experience activities that are AWepreneurial(SM). This program can be a keynote, breakout session, workshop, or facilitated retreat. The Emergenetics profile (an insight tool for how people both think and behave in groups) can be integrated into most of the programs.
