Lisa Baldino is a professional writer, strategic marketer and president of her own business, Turn of Phrase, providing marketing and writing expertise for small- to medium-sized companies. Her background includes speechwriting, media relations and coaching of top executives at Sony Electronics and other local and national companies. She is also a contributing writer to local Baltimore business magazines and The Baltimore Sun. Diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2007, Lisa defies her symptoms in her busy life and challenges people to become aware of how they can make a difference in their own lives and the lives of others -- despite any obstacles. She recently began her speaking quest to touch the lives of Parkinson's Disease patients and their caregivers, as well as surrounding medical personnel, health and wellness experts and community organizations. She is the co-chair of the Within Our Reach Symposium at the University of Maryland Medical Center and an advocate for Women and PD through the Parkinson's Disease Foundation. Lisa received the UMD Partner in Innovation Award for her work in the PD community. She adheres to a stringent exercise and movement plan that includes boxing and dance. She and her husband live in the Baltimore area with their two children, ages 18 and 15.
