Stepheca M. Sawyer is an award-winning educator, accomplished journalist and nationally recognized speaker. A highly sought after trainer and orator, her work can be seen in the boardroom, in the classroom and on stage.
In her professional career, Stepheca has worked in both print and broadcast media. She was a business news editor for the international news service, Business Wire; and later editor of the Nashville Record, a business and legal newspaper in Nashville, TN. When she returned to her hometown of Baltimore, MD, she continued to serve as a freelance journalist; and from 2006 - 2016 she was a Small Business Insider and co-host for BriefCase Radio on WEAA 88.9 FM in Baltimore. In 2004, Stepheca transitioned from a full-time position in journalism and accepted an offer for a leading business school in Baltimore. While the majority of her duties have been in an administrative capacity, she is also an adjunct faculty member in the school's Department of Business Administration. Stepheca teaches courses in Business Leadership, Professional Development and Special Topics in Business Administration ranging from Crisis Management and Contingency Planning to Philanthropy.
Today, this self-proclaimed Renaissance Woman is founder and CEO of Sawyer Syndicate, LLC which has three divisions: Syndicated Scholars (collegiate), EnterChangent (training and development) and Prophetic Rhythms (performing arts). She has travelled across the country training individuals and organizations on best practices in management ranging from hot topics in HR (diversity, generational issues, employee performance) to organizational change and development. For her professional and civic achievements, Stepheca has been recognized by professional and community organizations alike.
Stepheca has earned degrees in journalism, business and philosophy and has studied in the United States, the United Kingdom and France. She serves on several boards and is an active member of the National Speakers Association, the National Association of Black Journalist and the National Black MBA Association.
