After facing death and surviving I found myself in one of the most challenging positions of my life, fighting to hold on to the career I loved. How can one person survive a fall from 13,000 feet? It is more than just being rushed to an emergency room and hoping you survive. Surviving is a choice, I chose to not only survive, but to get my job back and to live my life.
With twenty-two years in Air Force Special Operations/Pararescue, and six years in Worldwide Personal Protective Services, I've overcome adversity through tough mental resolve and perseverance. Life is unpredictable, but you don’t give up when faced with obstacles or unforeseen challenges, you make a choice, you decide what you want in life, you set your goals, and then you achieve them. I will share with you challenges I faced when I was down and the rewards I have experienced from not giving up. You are your biggest obstacle, don’t get in your way of achieving your dreams. It is up to you, it is your choice.
One of the most heartwarming and gratifying feelings is to hear someone tell me how my experiences have affected them and changed their life. Sometimes it is my Near-Death Experience at the time of the parachute accident, or my determination and resolve to never give up. Maybe my story is meant for you, it may be just the inspiration you have been looking for.
