From a lifetime of varied careers including Certified Imago Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor, Librarian at a State hospital, Instructor of Computer Based Instruction at a Community College, Computer Training Specialist at Texas Instruments, BDM, Inc. and other corporations, Mr. Maxwell shares his insight and knowledge about the importance of building and maintaining relationships in the home, community, and in the business world.
Speaking with humor and appropriate seriousness, Mr. Maxwell focuses on the challenges involved in maintaining relationships in our modern world of digital communication and on the irony of having so many different ways to connect and still feel isolated. The old saying "It's not what you know, but who you know" is more important than ever, yet if you have difficulty getting to know people or understanding how to relate to others, your personal growth and career advancement will be constricted.
Mr. Maxwell speaks on many aspects of relationships: our relationship to ourselves which can either motivate us and provide self-confidence or keep us from reaching our goals in life; our relationship to others which determines how confidently we can lead or belong to a group; and our relationship to Spirit which provides a purpose and direction to our life.
Mr Maxwell has presented to the Austin Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the Austin YWCA, Resources for Living and teaches the popular UT Informal Class "Getting The Love You Want". He is currently in private practice in Austin and completing his self-help book entitled "Staying Calm in High Drama Relationships".
