Mary Symmonds has worked as a Director and Advisor in the field of International Economic and Social Development with the United Nations for over 30 years focussing on reducing poverty and strengthening Governance in Africa. She is also the Executive Director of the Global Leadership Coalition, a not for profit organization which seeks to foster a new brand of leader who is ethical, entrepreneurial , connected to their society and taking actions to transform their society.
She has dedicated her life to making a difference for others. She has also been a mentor for young adults for over 15 years and also coached hundreds of people for over 25 years.
Mary has extensive speaking experience on a broad range of topics including economic and social development issues as well as leadership and self management.
Mary holds a B.A. Political Science, Hunter College, City University of New York, an MSc., CUM LAUDE International Affairs (Conflict Resolution) New School University, A Cerfiticate in Negotiation, Harvard University/UNDP Programme and a Certificate Scenario Planning, Oxford University Templeton College, Said School of Business. She is extensively trained in Transformational Leadership and self-management. Since 2007 she has completed over 50 CEU credits in the area of personal and professional growth and development.
Mary is also a Certified facilitator of the Passion Test, the Passion Test for Kids and Teens and the Passion Test for Business.
