Lorle is one of those rare individuals who can use both the creative and analytical parts of her brain to develop innovative solutions. She graduated from UC Berkeley, majoring in premed with honors, and then went on to earn a degree in design at FIDM, finishing top of her class. A year later, she started her first company, which lasted eighteen years. A very unique collection of products and cleverly engineered production resulted in profit margins of 25% in an industry where 10% was considered healthy.
Lorle raised five of her own children while working full-time for over 30 years and was very conscious of the struggle all parents experience trying to balance it all. When her first child was leaving for college, she had that moment of panic as a parent: “Have I taught her everything she needs to know to go out into the world and be happy and successful?” That question inspired a quest for information that eventually led to her second company - which lasted six years and sold $15M worth of parenting products to over 100,000 families. She also wrote several books on parenting, family life, and work/life balance ( including HappyHome, and Dizzy Busy Dozen) and later developed the 10-MINUTE PARENT workshop and tools.
Over the last ten years, she noticed two major trends that led to the development of The MINDPOWER ToolBox:
- High school teachers, university deans, and employers started complaining about over-involved parents and a generation of anxious, unhappy, disconnected young adults that are completely unprepared for real life in the workforce.
- A huge shift took place in corporate training from time management, organizational, and leadership skills, to softer skills like emotional intelligence, resilience, mindfulness, empathy, gratitude, and happiness.
These two trends are, in some way, related. They are the same skill sets that parents have neglected to teach their children while they were busy building their resumes for college. Somewhere along the line, parents have been sadly misled. They believe that if we give our kids enough praise, enough A’s and enough trophies, they will think like winners. Successful people know that’s not how life really works.
Lorle has spent twenty years studying what the experts (and scientists) say about happiness and success - first from a parenting perspective and later from a business perspective - and has recently developed the Twelve Mindsets for Happiness and Success. In the process, she realized that there are thousands of authors, speakers, researchers, and consultants sharing powerfully important and inspiring information, but most of them leave us hanging without practical solutions that help us apply that information to our crazy, busy lives. They deliver a clear WHAT, a compelling WHY, but a weak HOW - that rarely results in permanent change.
Lorle’s is a creative problem solver. Her passion is developing tools that take people from inspiration to action. The MINDPOWER ToolBox is a revolutionary new way to learn. There are no books, no CDs, no webinars. It takes Emotional Intelligence training to the next level and includes a simple, step-by-step HOW to rewire the brain with the twelve mindsets for happiness and success – in five minutes a day, while you relax with your morning coffee. This very unique tool is based on the latest discoveries in neuroscience, proven practices in positive psychology, habit research, and the advice of over a hundred experts who study happiness and success. It keeps people motivated and engaged long enough to actually change how they think and behave.
The truth is, we don’t need more information. We need tools that get us to the finish line.
