Discover the Leader Within: Use your influence to become a transformational leader
Keynotes and facilitated workshops on: leadership, working across generations, communication, and professional growth
Dr. Altekruse has over 20 years of combined experience in business leadership, entrepreneurship, education, and nonprofit service. Prior to starting Executive Excellence, Karen served as the director of a center dedicated to helping business owners grow their companies through leadership development, strategic planning, and coaching. In the late 1990’s, after several years in the healthcare marketing and public relations field, Karen decided to put her entrepreneurial talents to work for herself. She founded a marketing communications firm and grew it from a solo practice to a second-stage firm. As the president and CEO of the marketing firm, Karen grew her team and the business by developing strategic partnerships and empowering team members to pursue excellence in their professional and personal lives. She exited the firm in 2010 in order to focus her attention on coaching current and emerging leaders to guide them along their leadership journey. Drawing from her business experience, study of transformational leadership, and research of growth-minded individuals, Karen shares valuable information and insights with audiences across the country. Whether she is speaking to a room of business executives and/or entrepreneurs, or facilitating a leadership or communication skills workshop, she personalizes her approach to the audience and customizes the content to meet the needs of the event organizers.
Karen is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), the National Speakers Association (NSA), Toastmasters International, the National Association for Women Business Owners (NAWBO), the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE), and the Association for Talent Development (ATD). Karen received her executive coaching certification from Bellevue University and is continuing ICF credentialing through Mentor Coach. She is a licensed in the PeerSpectives roundtable facilitation method, and is certified to administer and coach the One Page Plan, Gallup’s Entrepreneurial Profile 10 Assessment, various Franklin Covey work sessions, and RightPath Behavioral Profile assessments.
Karen is available for speaking engagements, workshop facilitation, corporate training sessions, team building initiatives, and as a guest lecturer or adjunct instructor for higher education.
