I am a health educator who loves telling my story of overcoming foster care, the special education system and abuse to earn two graduate degrees and live a full life in spite of having mental health challenges. My 7th grade teacher told the school board in a letter I still have I was "unable to learn," I was advised I would likely not finish high school and would never receive a Master's degree.
Today I educate physicians and social workers among others on topics like HIV and Mental Health and the Prescription Drug Abuse Crisis. I have presented to the Georgia Department of Public Health and the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network among other places and am soon going to New Orleans to speak at the National Association of Rural Mental Health conference!
I love public speaking and traveling and will go about anywhere on Earth as long as it's revenue neutral just for the for the experience. If I apply for a position you post I assure you it was read carefully and I felt it was a good fit for my abilities. I hope to hear from you in the future as well.
