I was privileged with the platform to host a book release celebration. Juwon Obadofin, the author of the "Saving of a Wreckless Freak" migrated from Nigeria to the United States in search of a better life for his family, and he published a book to details his experiences.
Obadofin showcases the consequences of the poor decisions he has made and which could have easily led to his own death. Instead, he uses the experience to pen a book in the hope that others may learn from his mistakes

President of CUNY Edge Stephanie established a program to provide college assistance and financial resources to students in the program receiving public assistance from the government. I also supported college retention, professional development, academic advising, mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement. I created a peer mentoring group titled "Excelling With Grace" at Brooklyn College where freshmen and transfer students can receive help from a mentor to understand the campus, how to approach professors, managing a busy schedule, time management, creating a calendar and preparing for midterms and final exams. My focus was to raise leaders who will lead the next class.
Negotiations of Work & Family by a Registered Nurse I was chosen to present my poster titled "Negotiations of Work & Family by a Registered Nurse" at the Eastern Sociological Conference. I was interested in examining the constraints of being a full-time worker and a care provider. My poster examined how Danielle a full-time registered nurse balances being a care provider to her aging mother and four children. My results implicated that Danielle’s case demonstrates the gendered toll on working women, who while fulfilled by their work, experience strains in negotiating the same with their care giving responsibilities. I was awarded the Sidney Award for outstanding work in the field of Sociology and excellence in presentation.
