Mark is an experienced veteran in the international technology sector. He is currently CEO/President of Global Visions-SV, Inc. a global consulting group focused on venture investing, M&A and innovation development. Mark advises and invests in a variety of early stage companies. Recent projects including overseeing the selection, mentoring and seed funding of 20 promising start ups in Republic of Georgia. He has taught "StartUp 101" classes at Stanford University and is on Richard’s Branson’s Virgin Galactic Advisory Board which recently made it first successful commercial flight into space.
Mark was previously Managing Director with Trident Capital focusing on investments in IT, Software, Communications and CleanTech. During his employment, Trident was a top tier VC, with average IRR exceeding 30%.
Prior to that, Mark was also Senior Vice President Global IT and CIO for Oracle Corporation where he took Oracle in to the Software as Service business and also drove cost savings through IT consolidation worth over $1B. During his time at Oracle, ark was actively involved in the acquisition and integration of ~$30B of complimentary technology companies.
Prior to that, Mark co-managed a Transformational Outsourcing business at SAIC where the business re-badged employees and then took the now outsourced IT group through a transformation to reduce costs and enhance top line growth through improved processes and digital solutions. In addition, his business unit sponsored nine strategic investments in early stage and growth companies resulting in “top tier” VC returns for the company.
Mr. Iwanowski also held executive positions with Raytheon and Honeywell and was also a principle in three successful startups, Applied Remote Technology (ART, underwater robotics sold to Raytheon), Quantum Magnetics (QM, airport explosive detection systems, sold to Invision that was later bought by GE) and Neohapsis (cyber security, acquired by Cisco).
Prior to entering the startup and corporate business world, Mr. Iwanowski spent four years in professional football with the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs. Mr. Iwanowski holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in engineering from California Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from National University and has received multiple management excellence awards throughout his career.
