Dynamic speaker Courtney Plotts grew up in an emotionally, physically, and cognitively challenging household. After being sexually assaulted at age 11 and being incarcerated by the age of 13, Plotts was on a path of life destruction. She had a learning disability, which further complicated her academic success. Plotts graduated high school after two years of summer school. Following a failed attempt of college enrollment and traveling the country, Plotts tried college again. Though she still faced educational and personal barriers, with the help of educational professionals like yourself, she persevered and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degrees in education and psychology. Her doctorate degree was completed at Northcentral University. In addition Courtney has taught undergraduate and graduate education and psychology courses, most recently at Delaware State University. Currently, she is the National Chair For The Council Of At Risk Student Education and Professional Standards www.uscaseps.org. Courtney has spoken at a number of Colleges, Universities, and Nonprofits.
