Bette Lawrence-Water, Principal Consultant at Spectrum Strtegic Solutions, is a dynamic award-winning international speaker and author, who uses an engaging and effervescent style of communication that reflects her outlook on life and her beliefs. She is a certified professional coach and has been has been a recognized expert in leadership, community building, and public health for two decades. Bette has spearheaded health, leadership, and humanitarian efforts in the U.S., and other areas of the world. Most recently in Ghana, W. Africa where she led a drive to collect backpacks to aid students walking over 7 miles to and from school each day. She is also Board President of the Achieving Independence and Mobility Center for Independent Living Inc. in Downers Grove, Illinois.

Bette also tells an inspiring story of determination and triumph in overcoming a disability caused by an accident which left her wheel-chair bound for six months. She overcame that challenge and has gone on to assist others newly disabled, find the courage to seek freedom from dependency.
Bette holds Bachelor and Masters degrees in Management and Leadership and has completed hours of coursework towards a Ph.D. in Applied Management. She is a member of Toastmasters International, a certified professional coach, and a recipient of numerous awards and recognition for her work. She is a Public Health Lecturer at Benedictine University (Lisle, Illinois) and Dalian Medical University (Dalian China). She is also a member of the adjunct faculty at Wheaton College (Wheaton, Illinois), where she teaches graduate Global Health courses in Humanitarian and Disaster Management Institute.
She and her husband of 27 years live in the western suburbs of Chicago.
