Hi my name is Anthony Griggs.
I was the Player Development Director for the National Football League’s Pittsburgh Steelers Football Club for 13 years. As Player Development Director, I maximized the potential of the Pittsburgh Steelers players “off the field” so that they could be the best on the field. Through a comprehensive and thorough weight training and conditioning program, I helped players mature into responsible and caring citizens. I also served as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I was responsible for overseeing the progress of each player's fitness development and administering the NFL’s players programs (i.e., continued education, career development, financial/business management seminars, and family assistance) to the Pittsburgh Steelers team.
In addition to my professional sports background (combined total of over 23 years-as NFL player and team Director of Player Development), I bring a strong mix of personal and business communication skills. I am an expert on player and business development and my experience has garnered me an expert in the professional sports culture. I attended Villanova University where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications. In the spring of my junior year, Villanova University dropped their football program. I was then recruited by the Ohio State University where I
played football senior year. Currently, I am earning his Master’s of Science degree in Organizational Leadership at Geneva College.

I played professional football for 7 years (Philadelphia Eagles-4 years and Cleveland Browns-3 years) as an Inside-Outside Linebacker. I was the Philadelphia Eagles’ 1985 “Man of the Year” for my off-field community involvement. I am an Ambassador for the Catholic Charities Free Health Care Center in Pittsburgh, PA. I am also the President of the Legends Foundation out of Akron, OH, which provide life skills programs to young people.

However, Anthony’s most prized and cherished accomplishment is his family. He and his wife, Bethann, live in Gibsonia, PA with their four beautiful children: Loren, Alexiss, Aaryn and Alexander.
