Here's my story. After living a life that was perfectly comfortable and satisfactory, I had this nagging sense that there was something more for me. While I truly enjoy engineering and running a small business, I felt a deep desire to have more human impact. Like most people, I have experienced struggles. A few of the heavy hitters include being a full-time working mom and caretaker to my both my terminally ill grandparents, almost losing my marriage, suffering the effects of a loved one's addiction and becoming physically and emotionally exhausted. So, when I hit my rock bottom, I vowed to never go back. Together with therapists, a pastor, support groups, coaches, and close friends, I was able rebuild myself and create a powerful vision for my life. Coaching allows me to realize this vision and take advantage of my educational, professional and personal experiences.
From the book "Start with Why" by Simon Sinek, I will share my work on developing my Golden Circle. My WHY of coaching is to make a positive impact in the world by empowering people to be fulfilled, resilient and wholehearted. My HOW is by creating a confidential, judgement-free space for exploration, discovery and breakthroughs. My WHAT is coaching through deep listening, powerful questioning, compassionate feedback and meaningful connections. Sharing my Golden Circle with you allows us to partner with our similar beliefs and work together on something bigger than ourselves.
Prior to coaching, I was a chemical engineer in the oil industry and vice president of an engineering consulting firm. I traveled the world, had major corporations for clients and worked in male-dominated businesses. Here are a few of my stats. I have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a M.B.A. In 2015, I completed the Certified Professional Coach (CPC) training program of the International Coach Academy and became a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF). In 2016, I received the ACC credential from the ICF for completing over 100 hours of paid coaching. I am also the President of the Oshkosh Board of Education and teach fitness classes at the local YMCA.
On the personal side, I have been married to my kind, patient husband since 1998 and am mother to two terrific middle school aged kiddos. To round out our clan, we have a sassy, affectionate mutt and moderately overweight cat. We have chosen to live in the small community of Oshkosh, WI as it offers a world class quality of life and a beautiful inland lake.
