I offer a series of presentations on energy technologies. These presentations are designed for anyone who is interested in energy technologies yet has little or no technical background. These presentations are well suited for civic groups, community activists, regulators, legislators, investors, companies, associations, college students, and anyone among the general public who is curious about energy related topics. The presentations are generally based upon the series of books I have published on energy technologies. The material for the classes will be taken from those books, as well as from additional research not yet published. General Topics include: Basic Concepts of Electrical Power, Generators and Turbines, Power Lines, Grids, Coal Power, Solar Power, Wind Power, Nuclear Power, and Natural Gas. Specialized sub-topics include: Discoveries in the Fundamental Properties of Electrical Power; Mercury Emissions from Coal Power; Ideal Grid and the Future of Grids; Yucca Mountain Repository; Power Lines versus Underground Cables. My style of teaching is informal and conversational. We will have a good time, yet you will learn quite a bit of information. Students of all ages and backgrounds have enjoyed my teaching style. I know you will enjoy my presentations as well. Please tell me what topic which interests your organization, and I will prepare a presentation which is specially tailored to your group.
