Too Busy To Plan?
Move from overwhelming and unclear requirements to DONE!

Quick Summary We’re all overwhelmed – we’re BUSY. We’re too busy to plan – sometimes we’re even too busy to think! In this session I unlock the keys to achievement that come from thinking BIG when setting goals, and then get REALLY practical about creation of a simple, personalized action plan that participants can take with them and apply right away. Presentation Outline Using examples from real life, I explain how the path that most of us are on won’t lead us where we want to go. If we want to overcome the overwhelm we’re going to have to make some changes in our approach, and it turns out that it’s not hard at all! Planning matters – If we don’t make planning a priority, we’re going to fall victim to the most urgent tasks rather than the most important ones. Why Wilfredo Pareto’s 1906 analysis of Italian landowners applies to your to do list today! Most of our results come from the few, the really important things on our to do list. If we think critically about it, we can re-prioritize the important 20% and become far more effective. Thinking differently – If we don’t re-think the way we approach goals and achievement we will continue to be frustrated. Making the time to break out of your pattern – getting out of the box – will allow you to re-evaluate the things on your list. Setting goals – Once we realize the power of written goals (10x income difference in a 1979 Harvard study) we can take just 120 seconds to create the list of Big Goals we want to tackle next. Baby Steps You Can Take Next – Once the big goals are identified, I provide a simple exercise to help participants make measurable progress immediately. Attendees leave the session energized, inspired and enthused about goal achievement, and with a specific set of actions that they can take to see measurable progress.
