Instill & Fulfill: How to Inspire Others to Action
How Leaders Influence Others

Instill & Fulfill How Leaders Influence, Inspire, and Move People to Action Based on Chapter 3 of my book, Unleash Your Values: How to Lead & Succeed in Business Today... A Helicopter Pilot's Spin on Developing the Leader in You For more information, please visit: http://blackhawkleader.com/leadership-development-seminars/ SUMMARY: This program is perfect for those who want to inspire others to action. Program Length: 1-2 hours Whether you are in sales, a formal, or informal leadership position, it is critical to be able to influence others in today’s competitive world. In order to influence, you have to be able to connect with others, and you would possess a distinct advantage if you knew what makes others “tick” so that you could inspire them to action because you know what they value most. Imagine asking a friend whether they’d rather spend the day hiking or swimming, without realizing that as a child, they almost drowned and have had a fear of water ever since. You might never realize why on the hottest days, they’d still prefer hiking. -- What motivates others to take action? Just like someone who almost drowned, our experiences determine the things we value. Over time, the things that we value shape our attitudes, and our attitudes drive our behavior. When you are able to recognize what motivates others, you will be able to inspire them to action because you are addressing what they value most. *This session conducted with or without participants having their Values-Index ™ results. SESSION: In this session, I help participants realize that motivation comes from within. My session starts with a high level explanation of the Values-Index™ report, an explanation of intrinsic and extrinsic motivators, as well as positive and negative motivators. When you understand these four types of motivators, you can learn to communicate your message so that you will inspire others to action. ACTIONABLE TAKEAWAYS • The distinction between inspiring and motivating • How to recognize what motivates others • How to use motivators to inspire action USE OF TIME: • 20 minutes for the high level overview, discussion, and questions • 50 minutes -- 10 minutes each reviewing results with a peer on the five areas of the report • 20 minutes for summary and concluding questions
