Reducing Suffering In The Early Days of Loss

Facing the reality that a loved one has died is overwhelming, yet bereaved people also have to cope with physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual suffering. Mindfulness-based techniques – including meditation and yoga – can help us reduce suffering and cope with life after loss. Author of Mindfulness & Grief, Heather Stang, will share inspirational stories and lead easy-to-do yet powerful exercises that offer insight and hope. From the early stages of loss to further along on the grief journey, the ancient practice of mindfulness allows bereaved people to experience grief without becoming grief itself. This program will be customized to inspire bereaved attendees or train and inform grief, bereavement and hospice professionals.
