BULLYING MUST BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE BEING EMOTIONALLY OR PHYSICALLY INJURED DUE TO DELIBERATE HOSTILE ACTIVITY. Many people believe that bullying is a problem that only children face: however, by its definition bullying is the “conscious, willful, and deliberate hostile activity intended to harm, induce fear through the threat of further aggression and create terror”. This hostile activity can and does happen to both children and adults. PROGRAM CONCEPTS AND INSTRUCTIONAL CONTENT This “Explore the Challenge” program deals with bullying as a deviant behavior. We explore the concepts that interventions need to be based on proactive and preventive principles designed to help the professional, parents and students learn more about the issues of deviant and bullying behaviors. This program encompasses the training of participants on how to identify and understand a bully’s behavior patterns. Help those in attendance develop ways as to how to deal with the difficulties bullies create. Participants will be instructed in the psychological and social aspects of the bullying interaction. Formulate individual techniques that can help those who have experienced bullying and provide them with new skills to help reduce the effects of bullying problematic situations. “Explore the Challenge” provides material on proper interventions and a means of re-adjustment in thinking in regard to the bully. This program will assist participants in understanding how their pattern of behaviors can help them deal with the bully. SUMMARY “Explore the Challenge” uses an entire community approach to help bullied individuals become more productive through interventions that use humor and mediation techniques, and interpersonal facilitation concepts. This program is designed to give professionals, family members and friends a better idea of who the deviant bullying person is and what interventions can be successful. Our training is unique since it rejuvenates the attendees abilities to re-discover various ways to minimize a bully’s adverse effects on situations, while exploring and enhancing solutions that create positive outcomes. The perceived results are that participants will become more constructive in their dealings with bullies, and those individuals who support the bullies actions and situations.
