Do you know how to get a sign language interpreter? Once you get one, what do you do with them? And most important, WHY should you care? My name is Steve Austin. I'm a professional sign language interpreter in Birmingham, Alabama. I've been signing since the age of twelve and interpreting for a decade. I've also taught sign language classes and interpreting workshops across the Southeast. In my vast experience, I know that just because someone works in a lawyer's office, doctor's office, or HR, they still may not know the importance of getting a sign language interpreter for a client, customer, or employee who is sign-dependent. I'd love to answer any questions your group has on Deaf culture, sign language interpreting, etc.
