Daily interactions with teens is like riding a roller coaster. Some days are up other days are down. It is our choice whether we are going to scream or enjoy the ride. This program is educational, empowering, and energizing. Audience members will discuss the difference between "normal" teens and "troubled" teens. Following open discussion, thought provoking graphics will enable us to review basic brain development during the teen years. Upon learning brain features and growth, audience members will learn which part of the teen brain develops last and which part operates on high alert most of the time, especially in troubled or difficult teens. Toss in raging hormones, social pressures, substance abuse, mental health concerns, gangs, academic and/or familial problems and then hold on tight for the ride. Herein lies OUR GOLD about many teens...How they feel is who they are and how they feel is their reality. Audience members will be empowered with techniques to help teens move in healthy directions. The program ends detailing the causes of difficult behaviors, creative and EFFECTIVE ways to earn their trust and build self-esteem. Sit and relax for an educational and enjoyable ride!
