Biography

"The presentation was almost like watching a one-woman theatrical production. So astonishing and moving was her story that the entire audience was captivated and at the end, in tears. It is a story that once again validates what a difference one person can make. This story must be told to young adults all over America. It shines the light of hope into everyone's heart. Every once in a while, a miracle takes place on earth. This experience is a modern day miracle and must be shared."
Bonnie O'Brian Nissman/Supervisor, Library & Textbook Services, L.A. Unified School District.

Watch Cara in Action

Cara is a published author and speaker who offers a unique perspective to the gentle force behind Anne Frank, her beloved father Otto Frank. Otto was not only a guiding presence in Cara's life for nearly 20 years, but also a wise and loving mentor to a worldwide family of other young people who reached out to him for guidance as well. His words of inspiration, his belief in world peace and love above all else, are what fueled Cara to tell his story as well as to relate their own loving connection maintained through very challenging times.

Cara speaks to groups of all ages, tailoring her message to each audience--which have included National Librarian Organizations, CTB/McGraw-HIll, Rotary and educational groups, religious organizations and many others. Her talks include extended workshops in which question and answer sessions focus on how to let go of hatred and find our own personal way to survive in a troubled world. Give Hope. Live Hope.

Dear Cara: Letters From Otto Frank

Cara's book, Dear Cara-Letters From Otto Frank, is based on her longtime correspondence with the father of Anne Frank--her mentor from childhood to adulthood. Her talks have become a one-woman forum--both entertaining and moving--exploring the wisdom and passion of youth and the ripple effect of fear and love. Her latest book, soon to be published, is based on the life-changing lessons learned through the greatest teachers of all found in nature.

Cara Wilson-Granat incorporates stories from her own life--and the obstacles and challenges she faced using the backdrop of Anne Frank, Otto Frank, and the constant lessons of nature to help audiences see and understand our common ground and how we are connected in so many ways. Above all, she keeps the hopes and spirit of a child killed in the Holocaust alive and symbolic of those in the world who are suppressed and living barbaric existences because of racial, cultural, religious, sexual, political, spiritual cruelty. Her workshops are based on her book and other life lessons.
