Mr. Smith has established himself as an Entrepreneur, Organizational Trouble Shooter, Business Coach, Keynote Speaker as well as a Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He holds the rank of Major in the United States Army Reserves and has over 24 years of military service to our country and he has a strong faith in GOD.
Mr. Smith established a management consulting firm that offers a combination of training programs in leadership and management which focus on organizational transformation, strategic business planning, corporate strategy and operational turnaround in an enhanced learning environment. He established the strategic vision and strategy, developed the business model as well as created a business and marketing plan which included a solid segmentation, targeting and positioning strategy which penetrated new markets through a focused aggressive contract strategy.
In the early stages of development, Mr. Smith identified and acquired new business and managed the project lifecycle-from scope of work through provision of deliverables, follow up, and relationship management for long term projects. He enjoys building relationships with executives to help them solve problems, increase profits and reach their fullest potential through strategic planning. He is in the development phase of launching a book publishing company which will published and distribute his leadership and business management books, audio and video products. Mr. Smith believes in self-empowerment he believes in "Grabbing The Bull By The Horn".
Mr. Smith is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Management specializing in Leadership and Organizational Change from Walden University. He has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Science in Information System (MSIS) from Strayer University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Animal Science from Southern University A&M College. Mr. Smith is a multi-talented young man with a passion for business. While attending Southern University A&M College he launched two businesses an import-export mail ordering company and a private investigation firm and truly gained a completed understanding of the power of entrepreneurship. Mr. Smith later merged his firm with Simmons, Thomas & Smith, L.L.C.
As a Major in the United States Army Reserves he is currently a Command Inspector General. Prior to this assignment he served as the Dupty Inspector General for the Depolyment Support Command in Birmingham AL where he also served as the Operations Officer. Prior to this assignment, he was ordered to active duty to serve as Commander, Alpha Company, Warrior Transition Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Prior to this assignment he served as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of the 377th Theater Sustainment Command in New Orleans, LA. Prior to this assignment he was ordered to active duty and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 1190th Deployment Support Brigade in Baton Rouge, LA where in also served as the Assistant Team Chief. Prior to joining the United States Army Reserves, he served 15 years in the Louisiana Army National Guard wherein he served as Platoon Leader, 1084th Transportation Company, Logistic Management Officer, 773rd Maintenance Battalion. He served eight years as an enlisted Soldier with the 769th Engineer Battalion as a Combat Engineer before receiving his commission.
His military education includes, United States Army Inspector General School, Cammanfd & General Staff College, Officer Candidate School (OCS), Combine Arms Exercise (CAX), Mobilization Deployment Planning Course (MDPC), Transportation Officer Advance Basic Course (TOAC), Transportation Officer Basic Course (TOBC), Combat Engineer School and the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defense School (NBC).
His awards and decorations includes the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with three (3) Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Medal with two (2) Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Service Ribbon, Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon and Armed Forces Reserve Medal “M” device, Louisiana General Excellence Ribbon with two (2) Oak Leaf Clusters, Louisiana Longevity Ribbon with two (2) Oak Leaf Clusters.
Mr. Smith is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and currently authoring a book, tentatively entitled: No Guts, No Glory Leadership Tactics - From The Battle Field, To The Board Room as well as co-authoring a book with Mr. Joseph entitled: Chess or Checkers - What Are You Playing? - Personal Strategies for Success In Life. He enjoys golf, skating, movies, music, biking, exercising and traveling.
