ROBERT LAWRENCE FRIEDMAN, M.A.
For the past 30 years, Robert Lawrence Friedman, MA, author, professional speaker/trainer, and psychotherapist, has provided his keynote presentations, training programs and workshops to Fortune 100 and 500 corporations, universities and health care organizations throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Robert received his Masters Degree in Counseling Education from Hunter College in 1985 and was awarded the Hearst Scholar Award in 2014.
His expertise in the areas of stress management has led to national and international media attention. He was featured on the year-long Discovery Health Channel documentary, Class of ’75, in which he mentored five highly stressed individuals, providing specific stress management strategies whose goal was to create positive and sustained lifestyle changes. Other appearances have included The Today Show (NBC), NY One News, Fox News, along with news programs on Fuji and Sankei Television in Japan.
He is the author of the book How to Relax in 60 Seconds or Less (Healthy Learning, 2011). This book focuses on providing readers with support in developing a greater level of sustained relaxation, health and well-being. In addition, Healthy Learning, Inc., a California-based wellness company, has produced fifteen of Mr. Friedman’s workshops and seminars on DVD.
Mr. Friedman has been interviewed for articles in the following print publications: The Wall Street Journal (2/12/13), U.S. News and World Report (10/12/12), Newsday (8/18/09), My Generation Magazine (12/02), Cosmopolitan Magazine (10/2) and The Washington Times (8/5/02). Robert was recently interviewed for the Daily Beast (7/21/14) and Self-Growth.Com (2013). In addition, Robert was the Stresswise columnist in Healthwise Magazine for eight years.
Mr. Friedman has offered keynote presentations and workshops to such corporations as Accenture Corporation, American Express, BBDO International, Chase Manhattan Bank, Comedy Central, Forbes, HBO, Hyatt Hotels, Pitney Bowes, Saatchi & Saatchi, Schering Plough Corporation, Shiseido Corporation, Standard & Poors, Time-Warner, Viacom and Xerox Corporation, among many others. He has also provided his workshops to such health care organizations as Barnabas Health Care System and the Bon Secaurs Health Care System. In addition, he has provided his programs to such health care institutions as Cornell Medical Center, Mt. Sinai Hospital, Newark Beth Israel Hospital, New York Hospital, Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Saint Mary’s Hospital, and Saint Vincent’s Hospital for the past fifteen years.
Mr. Friedman was the developer and Director of the Stress Management Corporate Training certification program for Queens College of City University, the first program of its kind in the United States. He designed two cutting-edge computer software programs and iPhone applications, Relaxation On-Demand and Confidence On-Demand for individuals seeking support in areas of stress relief and improving feelings of empowerment.
Mr. Friedman is a professional member of the National Speaker’s Association.
