Reginald S. Corbitt is a Cyber Safety Expert who educates schools, community serving organizations, youth groups and businesses about Internet safety. He manages cyber safety outreach programs, maintains current international cyber safety knowledge and best practices and acts as a liaison for cyber safety program stakeholders. He develops and implements cyber safety plans and develops content and instructional materials.
Reginald transitioned from a 20-year career of combined security management, personal protection and investigations, to cyber safety after seeing the need for consistent education and awareness. He experienced first hand with his teenage daughter how technology can influence the behavior of youth and the risks associated with being constantly hyper-connected. While researching and educating himself on ways to keep a child safe and secure while connected, he learned that he would have to adapt to the roll of "Cyber Parenting" by helping to protect children from predators, exposure, misinformation and loss of privacy. Reginald’s presentations, tailored for each individual audience are vibrant, entertaining and relevant. Real world examples drawn from his experience as a security professional and a father dealing with a vast ever-changing technology, add a particular relevance to each presentation.
Reginald is the founder of SafeCyber, whose mission is to educate and promote cyber awareness to schools, community organizations, parents and carers of youth. They provide actionable information that's easy to understand along with tools and resources needed to stay safe and secure while being hyper connected. SafeCyber is a proud partner of STOP. THINK. CONNECT., the global cyber security education and awareness campaign led by the National Cyber Security Alliance and in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security.
