Biography

Dr. Stephanie Weiland Knarr is a rising national marriage and family expert and public speaker.  She was quoted in March 2012 as a national expert in Forbes Magazine in addition to authoring an article about marriage for the April 2012 edition of Harvest, a National Christian publication.  Dr. Knarr has also been featured as a marriage and family expert on local radio shows including "The Marketing Pulpit" and "Leap of Faith."  In 2011, Dr. Stephanie authored the book MarriageBiz with her husband Brendan Knarr, a successful sales manager.  Dr. Stephanie, as she is known to her clients and customers, has been practicing as a marriage and family therapist since 1999. She is a Nebraska farm girl at heart and the daughter of successful small business owners at Weiland Doors Inc.  Dr. Stephanie's parents role modeled an entrepreunerial spirit and the success of a family business, and now she carries that example with her as she runs her business from Metropolitan Washington D.C.  Stephanie brings the down to earth family values and work ethic from America's family farm to her professional life and to raising three children with husband Brendan in our nation's capital.

Dr. Stephanie's mission is to be the sought after motivational speaker on families and personal relationships.  She seeks to nurture ambitious families - families that are ambitious not only in the traditional sense of career and business success - people who are also seeking to be successful in all areas of family functioning: including love and affection, respect, communication, child-rearing, organization, conflict resolution, and service to family and community. Her AmBizious Families programs include MarriageBiz, ParentBiz, Dating Biz, and FamilyBiz. All of these programs help people to translate important concepts from the successful business organization right into their family organization. Dr. Stephanie is a trainer for mental health professionals in addition to business and family audiences. She hosts trainings in Baltimore, MD for mental health professionals on the topics of MarriageBiz, Interventions to Stop Family Bullying, and TherapyBiz (sales and business strategies for professionals in privacte practice).   Finally, as an expert and speaker on domestic violence, Dr. Stephanie believes in stopping family bullies.  She observes that the public is trending towards stopping school bullies, however bullying starts at home in the family.  Her program to stop family bullying is called "Outcry: Interventions to Stop Family Bullying."  She gives keynotes and trainings to the public, legal professionals, judicial and court officials, law enforcement, and the education and medical communities regarding family bullying and how people can intervene to stop bullies at home in the family.

In today's world, families are stressed with a rapidly changing economic and social environment.  In all of her AmBizious Families programs, Dr. Stephanie tells her own story of these pressures from her own heart and from the eyes of her clients.  She takes knowledge and strategies from family systems research and clinical experience to help families navigate today's pitfalls.  But more importantly, people connect with Stephanie because she opens up about her own human experience living in a family.  She is very real, often laughing "I am trying very much to take my own advice."  Her programs can help families manage the anxiety of family communication, child-rearing, and business customer service while under the extreme financial pressures that many families and businesses are facing today. Her motto is "Putting Your Family First" at Stephanie Weiland LLC where she models her own ambitious family and practices business customer service that people can truly hang their hat on.
