Tom Snyders is a former Division I college wrestler, and has coached wrestling at the college and high school level. For the bulk of the past 26 years Tom has made a living as a professional comedian and motivational speaker. In June of 1987, when his old car gave out, he put some camping gear on the back of his bicycle and pedaled the hot 1,500 miles from Las Vegas to Des Moines to get to a comedy performance on time.
Since then, Tom has continued pedaling a fully-loaded touring bicycle to 90 percent of his comedy performances and speaking engagements. In that time he has pedaled more than 169,000 miles, to, and throughout, all 50 states (ask him about Hawaii), and in 34 countries on six continents.Tom has made ten national television appearances over the years. Has appeared on Good Morning America, Comedy Central, three times on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, and on ESPN.
in 2008, Tom did a solo, 8,219 mile bike trek from Cancun, Mexico, to Ushuaia, Argentina. In 2000, Tom pedaled 6,100 miles from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, to Key West, Florida in 63 days. That ride featured 500 miles of gravel road along the Dalton Highway with only two towns between Prudhoe Bay and Fairbanks
