PASSIONATE AWARD-WINNING PRO-SPEAKER | LIFE COACH
SERIAL ENTREPRENEUR | HUMOROUS STORYTELLER
ABOUT BIG ROB THE MOTIVATOR:
Big Rob The Motivator is an award-winning professional keynote speaker and entrepreneur. At the age of 20 while still attending college, he became one of the youngest officers in the state of Illinois for the Illinois Dept. of Corrections as a maximum security prison officer and later worked as a Deputy Sheriff for the Cook County Sheriff's Dept. After many years of working as a public official, he decided to pursue his true passion, entrepreneurship.
Big Rob started his first business in 2002... a film production company that crashed and burned like so many independent film production companies before him. But that did not discourage him. He collected his ego, dusted himself off, and tried again. His next attempt was a huge success, but not overnight. His first year he made $3000. He faced the possibility of homelessness while experiencing hunger for the first time in his life. It took almost a year of perseverance before his business took off and became a six-figure company. Then Big Rob took on the art world as an abstract/impressionist artist making $3000 in one day in his first gallery show in Chicago. World renown art curator and director James Rondeau of the famed Art Institute of Chicago chose his artwork as a finalist for the highly coveted Art In Motion Gala. This juried exhibit benefits the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago with artists participating from around the world.
Big Rob The Motivator takes his many experiences as an officer, former heavyweight boxer, entrepreneur, business owner, fine artist and engages audiences from beginning to end. His humorous approach and passionate sincerity leave audiences wanting more.
BIG ROB THE MOTIVATOR IN HIS OWN WORDS:
"The Sept. 11th attacks affected people around the world. And in 2001 it affected my life as well. After returning to the U.S. mainland from Puerto Rico to continue on my path of law enforcement I was met with closed doors as the U.S. government initiated a hiring freeze due to the attacks. For the next 6 years, I would face near homelessness, hunger, and instability as I struggled to find my way into a different career path. In 2007 I began to initiate my "Massive Quality Reps" process and my life changed. I went from eating fifty cent honeybuns for dinner to owning multiple businesses, becoming a high-volume sales artist, and speaking to thousands about my journey. Adversity can be overcome. It takes courage but most of all... consistent execution of core principles and values."
"In 2007, I was eating honey bun snacks for dinner. It was all I could afford. My foolish pride would not allow me to pick up a phone (In '07 we actually used phones to make phone calls), and ask my family and friends for a little help. They wouldn't have blinked. But I wanted to "go through the fire" alone... prove to myself that I could make it on my own.
I wanted to be an entrepreneur, be self-employed. That year I quit my job. I was working for billionaires. Opening Bentley doors for corporate CEO's, accepting flower deliveries for diamond-bedazzled socialites and helping Forbes 500 Listers with their bags. I wanted something more for myself. It wasn't because I thought the job I had was beneath me... it was because I knew I wasn't exploring my full potential. I was doing myself a disservice by ignoring my gut and walking into that job every day and feeling unfulfilled. So I quit. Cold turkey. And started a business.
I made about $3000 that first year, hence the honey bun snacks for dinner. $3000 a year doesn't go far when your rent is $1000 per month and healthy food in Chicago seems to be only for the rich. I was broke. Frustrated. Desperate. I needed a life-saving plan and I needed it NOW! And I'd like to tell you more at your next seminar, corporate conference or employee conference. Tell you about how I dug myself out with having only earned $3000 that first year. Tell you about how I made $3000 in one day with my next business. Tell you about how the business I started in 2007 has allowed me the financial freedom to be truly self-employed.
Motivating individuals to explore and find their inner strength is what I love to do. Every employee and business owner carries a vital role in the success of their company. That acceptance and understanding carry over into everyone's personal life. When you feel fulfilled you approach life with more energy, focus, and productivity. It opens the door to your true potential. "
