A Duo of Hope:  Co-Authors, speakers, and entertainer bring a compassionate vibration of wisdom to overcome life-altering changes

In the 1980's being a "can't stopoholic" manager in a fast-pace, telecommunications field, Renee Sutton had been praying for a mate to help her on the journey in bringing about advancements in society. She did this through adult education, leadership in strategic planning, and implementation. Soon afterwards, Christopher Paul came into her life, creating numerous growth experiences for them both.  His discipline in athletic training and healthy lifestyle was contradictory to most musician's lifestyles, but his proved to be a wise investment for success in a so-far 20-year stint in the entertainment world.  

As a writer, he landed a country song. By 1997 Paul self-produced and published his first instrumental album called Higher Ground, which is still being played in healthcare institutions, radio, and other avenues.  Not only did he travel the nation with country music artists, performing to audiences over 35,000, he also performed in a duo in Nashville, TN. During this time, he nurtured and still pined for Sutton after she was diagnosed with advanced lymphatic cancer.  Sutton's new mission became focused on how to heal using integrative and complementary medicine.  Seven years of using holistic and mind/body approaches, she felt regenerated and ventured into a new calling-to help people heal.  

A cross-country move to the Colorado Rocky Mountains brought new adventures and sorrow. Never did she dream that her new training challenge would be Paul's recovery.  Eight years ago, he was producing his second album when he incurred a bicycle accident on the steep, mountain roads.  He collided with a car, injuring his spinal cord and crushing his arm.  Sutton dove deeper into mind, body, spiritual approaches to help Paul achieve his new passions-to perform music and walk again. His battle to sing and play the guitar again rings a message of hope, courage, and implications of choices.  

She gained certifications in techniques such as, Healing Touch Program, Rieki, Jin Shin TARA, Holistic Stress Management, and Spiritual Ministry.  They both found a new understanding of resources greater than them.  Their Christian faith and guidance lead them to the right resources at the right time. Paul finished the second instrumental album, calling it Journey of the Soul. He's currently working on a vocal album. He was recently profiled in the Lowcountry Monthly as one of the 25 Most Intriguing People in the region, because of his remarkable comeback and unfettered spirit to now sing and play a wide range of music from a wheelchair.  Paul's ultimate dream for a cure still exists. In the meantime, they both have hit the road to encourage others to reach for their highest healing potential because everything is possible!

Sutton has been teaching a Stress Management series at Front Range Community College in Westminster, Colorado and Northeast State Technical College in Blountville, TN.  She also teaches healthcare contact hours in a continuing education class called "Self-Care TARA Approach (Tools for Awakening Resources and Awareness) for the Resolution of Shock and Trauma", which combines Western psychotherapy concepts, Eastern five-element philosophies, and 26 meridian points on the body.  She has presented at in-services for hospitals and hospice organizations; conferences.  

The couple now lives in South Carolina where Paul performs weekly and teaches guitar lessons, and Sutton has a private practice and speaks across the nation. Their book is called "Craft a Life of Passion, Purpose, and Prosperity" and another book is on its way called "Healing on Higher Ground".
