Biography

Lauren Hudson is an Emmy award-winning Television News Reporter, Author and Speaker. She has worked for such top networks as ABC, NBC, CBS, UPN, FOX and E! Entertainment, and is a founding member of the Les Brown Platinum Speakers Network.

As a Speaker, her energy and enthusiasm are contagious.  Lauren shares life-changing lessons based on the countless news stories she has covered and people she has interviewed, along with her own personal challenges from bankruptcy to breast cancer.  This entrepreneur and single mother has developed an indomitable spirit, along with personally-proven ideas for harnessing human potential.  Lauren encourages audiences to grow through challenges, reinvent themselves, take life on, and find happiness in the midst of it all.

Lauren is known world-wide as “The International Princess of Happiness.”  She has authored several books and CD’s, including The Power of Happiness, On the Road to Happiness, In It to Win It, Surviving and Soaring, and Maximum Impact.   She is also the founder of “The International Happiness Network,” with members on all 7 continents and in more than 70 countries and counting.

This veteran journalist has received prestigious honors from such organizations as The National Association of Television, Arts and Sciences; The Associated Press; The Detroit Press Club; The Michigan Association of Broadcasters; and “Who’s Who among American Women.” 

Active in the community, Lauren has been named one of “The Most Influential African-American Women in Metropolitan Detroit.”  As a Breast Cancer Survivor, she was appointed as a national representative for the Saks Fifth Avenue “Fashion Targets Breast Cancer” campaign.  Additionally, she has been recognized by Sears and the WNBA with its Breast Hero award, and has worked extensively with the American Cancer Society, Gilda’s Club and the City of Hope.
