His dynamic message will encourage, inspire and motivate your youth. Coach Ivan Thomas is the former Head Boys Basketball Coach of the famous T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, VA. The high school was made famous for honoring the 1971 football team in the movie “Remember the Titans.” With his outstanding leadership and inspiration, Coach Thomas led the 2008 T.C. Williams Boys Basketball team to the State Championship. Winning the Virginia Boys 2008 AAA State Championship was the first title won since 1977, ending a 27 year drought in Northern Virginia. With his unique approach to working with high school students, he has helped his team over the past three years go undefeated at 52-0 in the district and has transformed their thinking and helped them develop an unbreakable spirit for life.

He is the author of the recently released book “Listen To Me”, A book for anyone looking to understand young people better. A collection of essay by graduating seniors about their parents, guaranteed to be an eye opening read. He is also the author of the book “45 Tips for Discovering your child’s Gift, a book that serves as a blueprint for parents and anyone working with youth to help inspire and motivate young people in an effort to uncover and nurture a child’s gift.

Coach Thomas is a dynamic motivator; he has an uncanny ability to encourage and inspire even the most unmotivated adult and students to learn and become productive citizens. His passion for young people is evident in his everyday walk. He firmly believes that each child is special and unique and his life’s purpose has involved helping students discover their gifts and tap into their full potential.

Ivan currently resides in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, with his lovely wife, Dr. Jennifer Miles-Thomas, and their three beautiful children, Christopher, Taylor, and Jordan.
