Biography

Prakash Rao is a visionary, keynote speaker, executive/business coach, consultant and trainer.

Time management does not have to be B-O-R-I-N-G, tiresome or difficult. As with everything else, one size of time management does not fit all. There is a need for a flexible time management system that can be adapted to a very wide range of individuals. Prakash has created a game that helps people find fun in the simple things that go towards controlling events in their lives. The game, Bank Your Time, is a fun way to manage time. It is also a flexible, comprehensive, metrics-driven, goal-oriented tactical time management system.

Prakash Rao began his career as a software engineer with a Master's degree from Boston University, and has worked up the ranks of technology in several financial institutions in the New York area. Along the way, he picked up an MBA from NYU's prestigious Leonard N. Stern School of Business. His focus has been on getting the most productivity from himself and from his team through use of non-traditional efficiency techniques. These techniques have formed the core of a new time management program, Bank Your Time. Since 2004, Prakash has trained over 700 individuals in the Bank Your Time system with remarkable results. Several of his students have reported over 60% improvement in their productivity - the typical result is about 40% improvement.

What is Bank Your Time? If time is money, the best that one can do is to treat it like money. The core of Bank Your Time is an accounting system with debits, credits and balances (but without the double-entry bookkeeping - one need not go so far!). The strength of the system is a large set of tactics to beat time estimates on individual tasks. As you save time on tasks, you can credit them into your time "bank" - hence the name "Bank Your Time" - and as you collect enough time for things that you want to do, you can debit the time for such activities. The benefit is that you can get more things that you "have to" do in less time, and find more time for the things that you "want to" do. This sustains the motivation to use and to excel at this system. Bank Your Time is the first metrics-driven time management system.

With over 23 years of industry experience and a keen insight into underlying causes of common problems, Prakash has helped many businesses transform themselves from ugly caterpillars to beautiful butterflies through simple yet profound changes. At the end of the day, visions, intentions, plans and strategies do not matter - only results matter. Prakash achieves results by addressing the behavior patterns that hold good people back. A firm believer in efficiency, Prakash motivates and directs his clients to "Do MORE With LESS." Tactical management is to businesses what Bank Your Time is to individuals - a flexible system to bring out the best from the business.

As a speaker, Prakash uses anecdotes, stories, metaphors and analogies to carry messages that will remain in the mind long after the applause fades away, messages that will provoke thought and evoke the desired actions. Having risen from the trenches to the ivory tower, Prakash blends idealogy with solid practicality and appeals to people in all walks of life, in all levels of society and corporate ladder.
