Biography

Alan Ray, Ph.D. is a humorist/educator who can make you laugh, think, and learn all at the same time.  His presentations teach audiences how to better communicate through humor, and how to deliver entertaining written and verbal "shows" to clients, patients, students, or the general public.

Alan Ray customizes each presentation to fit a company's or an association's needs.  Whether it's a 1-hour address or an all-day workshop, Alan tailors the event by creating funny as well as inspirational talks/tabloids/videos aimed directly at a specific audience.  As a facilitator/emcee of retreats and meetings, Alan spices up the gatherings with creative skits, song parodies, and games.

Alan Ray is the author of the first daily humor service for radio personalities, newspapers, and comedians.  Begun in 1988, "TeleJoke" is a contemporary joke sheet that lampoons politicians, sports figures, and Hollywood celebrities.  For over 2 decades, Alan has written for Jay Leno, Will Durst, the Capitol Steps Comedy troupe, Dick Cavett, and hundreds of morning show radio announcers.  And, he is currently a contributor to the New York Times humor blog "Laugh Lines".

Alan Ray is a professor of communication and media at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.  He earned his doctorate in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Missouri.
