As a National Speakers Association member, Perry's presentations emphasize the importance of humor and self-awareness as the key ingredients for effective teaching and learning.  In 2008, Perry received the MBA students' Crystal Apple Teaching Award, as an Assistant Professor of Legal Studies at Georgia State University's Robinson College of Business.  In 2005, he received Robinson's Teaching Excellence Award. In addition, he received the Dade County Bar Association's Pro Bono Award for service to individuals unable to afford legal counsel.  Finally, Perry is a volunteer for the After School All-Stars, a program designed to inspire at-risk middle school students with innovative activities.

Perry is a former litigation attorney and radio talk show host who frequently appears in the media, including USA Today, Associated Press, The New York Times, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, The Financial Times, The Christian Science Monitor, Investor's Business Daily, AP Radio, CBS Radio, Court TV Radio, and ESPN Classic.
