Biography

Whether you are a elementary school, municipality, a Fortune 100 or 1,000 company, you all have one thing in common you generate waste.  It costs money to dispose of it. But much of what you throw out is reusable which saves money and saves raw material resources.  Basic education about how you generate waste and a few simple changes about how you handle it can save you money, time, labor and help out our planet.

Lydia brings the experience that comes from over 20 years of environmental industry experience spanning a tremendous cross section of industries, processes and client operating environment.  She's dumpster dived at the Pentagon and found homes for tons of off-spec diapers (they make nice animal bedding).  She can share her stories and learnings so that you will actually want to go out and see what is in your trash dumpster.

Lydia is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer ("Garbologist") for Solid Waste Solutions, a nationally recognized waste and recycling consulting firm.  Solid Waste Solutions works with clients interested in reducing their waste costs, improve recycling and increase operational efficiencies while helping them become more environmentally friendly.  She is also the president of Waste Specialties, Incorporated, a 100% Women Business Enterprise.
