Dr. D. Lee McGahey has taught, mentored and encouraged others to identify their natural gifts, talents, passions and life purpose for more than twenty years while working with Metro Nashville Public Schools, Davidson County Juvenile Court, Metro Nashville Social Services, Tennessee Department of Children’s Services, Tennessee State University, Martha O’Bryan Center and various youth and church organizations.
Dr. McGahey is a conference, seminar and workshop leader.
He currently serves as the Coordinator of Academic Advisement & Orientation at Tennessee State University, where he is responsible overseeing the advisement and academic support services for nearly 3,800 students at the University. Additionally, he teaches on-ground and online classes for Tennessee State University and Colorado Technical University Online. He is also a licensed real estate agent for the State of Tennessee with SilverPointe Properties, in the Franklin, TN office.
Dr. McGahey has served in the gospel ministry as a called, licensed and ordained elder for the past twenty years. He is currently a member at Born Again Church and Christian Outreach Ministries where he has served the ministry in various capacities for the past twenty years, as well. His most recent appointment for service was as the Director & the Dean of the Ministers In Training (MIT) program (2007-2009).
He is a native Nashvillian who loves the “Music City”. He is a 1989 graduate of Maplewood Comprehensive High School and the Jobs for Tennessee Graduates (JTG) program. He is a veteran who served his country in the Persian Gulf War and six subsequent years in the United States Army and Air Force (Tennessee Army and Air National Guards) respectively.
Dr. McGahey received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, a Master of Science degree in Organizational Counseling and a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University.
He and his wife of eight years, Kimberly, currently reside in Cane Ridge, TN with their daughter Princess Rose. He is also the founder of Bridge Builders Consulting Group. His heart’s desire is helping others to reach their God-given destiny academically, financially, personally, physically and spiritually through education and mentoring programs regardless of race, age or denomination.
