I'm glad that I stutter.

That wasn't always true. One day during my 14th birthday, after years of abuse due to my chronic stuttering, after daily torment both self-derived and from others, after trouble after trouble due to my "defending myself", it finally became clear. I had had an epiphany, and it hit me hard. I was walking down the street but I had to stop, sit, and ponder what was going on in my head. My brain boiled, my hair bristled, and my head was pounding. Soon after, in what seemed liked a lifetime, with passerbys asking if I was okay, I arose with a new vision, I was a new person. And yes, I was very much okay. I was FREE. Free to speak, free to be heard, and free to take charge of my life. Today, I am a PUBLIC SPEAKER by trade. And yes, even today, I encounter others who want to make fun of my stuttering condition. However, no longer does it affect me in a negative manner. Instead, I am motivated by it. I know that I have value - all because of that wonderful thing that happened on the street so long ago. I publish a local business magazine, with my loving and supportive wife Lea, and grew it into a national publication. With our motivated youth trainees, my organization produced and hosted a radio talk show with an emphasis on business. Many organizations, probably similar to yours allowed me to help them with their marketing and community needs. You might recognize Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Sam's Club, Kaiser Permanente, UCD Medical Center, and The Shriners Hospital.

It is always a real treat speaking in front of motivated groups for EDD, Chambers of Commerce, BIZTec, Tech Skills College, Center for Employment Training, Sacramento Municipal Utility District and more.

It is especially gratifying working with youth, ages 12 - 25 and teaching them in the areas of life skills, career planning, relationships, team building, and more. my clients include school districts, youth centers, foster youth agencies, non-public schools, and community centers. Together, we have spoken in Washington, DC, published a community magazine, hosted a radio talk show, engaged in theatrical presentations across the country, and spoken before thousands of middle and high school youth.

What is probably the most gratifying to me is when someone comes to me and says that I have INSPIRED them to succeed. "I can't believe that you do this", they say in amazement. "And you stutter - well if you can do this, surely i can do ...!"

I smile, look deeply into their eyes, and say - "I am happy that I could help you find the success you always had within"

I am glad that I stutter. For I get the opportunity to motivate others. I get to see them shine.
