What do you need?

Company XYZ required three signatures for an employee to obtain a pen or a box of paperclips. The owner of Company ABC stated that his most successful salesman had no repeat customers. Company 123 canceled a holiday party eight days before Christmas. All of these situations were real.  All of these business are either bankrupt or in troubled waters.  None of the companies understood what motivated their employees or their customers. None of their managers had asked their staff or their clients the very simple question, “What do you need?”

There is indeed a science to establishing life-long relationships with your employees and your customers. But it isn’t rocket science. The basic building blocks are right at hand.  Whether you need to improve communication within your company, organize to meet the changing needs of your customers, or simply desire to improve the perfomance of your current staff, the process is the same.
