Bill Treasurer is founder and Chief Encouragement Officer at Giant Leap Consulting (GLC), a Courage Building company that exists to help people and organizations live more courageously.

Bill is the author of Courage Goes to Work, a book about how to inspire more courageous behavior in workplace settings. His first book, Right Risk is about how to take smart risks, and draws on Treasurer’s experiences as both an organizational development professional and as a daredevil athlete.

Bill Treasurer is also the editor of Positively M.A.D. (Making A Difference). The book is a compilation of stories, from world- renowned experts, that aims to inspire readers to make a difference in their organizations. Gannett newspapers calls it “required reading for all employees contemplating putting a co-worker’s tie through the shredder -- with the co-worker still attached.”

Bill’s insights have been featured in over 100 newspapers, including The Washington Post, The NY Daily News, The Chicago Tribune, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Boston Herald, and Investor’s Business Daily. Bill’s insights have also appeared in such magazines as Woman’s Day, Business-to-Business, Redbook, Fitness, and The Harvard Management Update.

Bill is a former member of the U.S. High Diving Team. For seven years he traveled throughout the world performing with a team of high performing athletes. During that time, Bill did over 1500 high dives from heights that scaled to over 100 feet...sometimes on fire!

Since 1993 Bill has conducted over 500 corporate workshops designed to strengthen people’s leadership skills, improve team performance, accelerate innovation, and help executives behave more courageously. Among others, Bill has led workshops for Accenture, CNN, Earthlink, NASA, The Home Depot, SPANX, the Centers for Disease Control, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

It is clear from the insights you shared, both during the keynote and the small group conversation, that you possess a depth and breadth of knowledge about a subject of great importance to our organization. I especially appreciate that you offered several unique and practical ideas and tools that can be immediately implemented. Treating courage as a skill that can be developed is a powerful concept that enables people to be more courageous in the workplace, while fostering a climate of courage for others.

“I’m really happy that he came, I’m really happy that we chose him. We’ve been in this situation before where we’ve gone out on a limb to pick a motivational speaker and been disappointed. With Bill, I’ve never been more happy with my choice. I look forward to working with him again.”
Ella Koscik, CEO, Management Decisions Inc (MDI)

“We asked Bill to be our motivational speaker at our Global R&D meeting. He spoke on the last day of our conference and to everyone’s delight, Bill’s engaging style energized our attendees after a long week of meetings.”
Kevin T. Schultz, DVM, Ph.D.
Chief Scientific Officer and Head of Global R&D, Merial, Inc.

“Bill is a unique personality. One of those personalities who can light up a room and leave you with stories you’ll be telling for years to come.”
Justin Roux, Editor, Pipeline Magazine
